[4:12pm] had been cleaning our room for the past fewish hours while listening to ambient music to keep me focused. it needed cleaning for quite some time now, especially with how much garbage there was on the floor including the piles of hair that just seem to form out of nowhere. good news though, i think the ipl device that i've been using for the past couple of months has been helping significantly well as im starting to notice the lack of beard shadow that i have going on. also found out that you shouldn't really brush your hair dry if you have even slightly wavy hair (which i have if you were wondering for some reason) and instead brush it dampened with water.

been thinking of getting an ereader as i really really REALLY want to get into reading as much as i possibly can. as much as i like reading from a physical book, i'd rather just kind of read from a comic book or graphic novel or something. the last book i did sit down and read was "Fifth Chinese Daughter" made by Jade Snow Wong and it's a memoir about a fairly well known pottery artist making her way through post-WWII america as a chinese woman. i really enjoyed what i had read, and got up to about chapter 5. i surprisingly remember the details from that book, mostly from how they all lived in their workspace, how dirty it all was, and the whole chapter with the funeral was good. i remember it having a really good quote that stuck out to me revolving seeds and how they were raised. it's a classic in chinese american literature as far as i know.

album listens

album #1 iam williams is slowly becoming a bit of an obsession of mine recently with his stuff in don caballero and storm & stress. battles is not a band i really enjoy all too much but i do like how electronic their whole sound is, like some sort of titanic being. gloss drop surprisingly got some stuff out of me. most surprising of all is the collaborators on the album, especially yamatsuka eye who's notably well known with boredoms, hanatarash, and working with artists like john zorn, sonic youth, otomo yoshihide, and mike patton. the music is basically just like their debut but more in line with math pop in some degree. fairly enjoyable.

album #2 revisiting this lovely drone record while i wait for another album to download from the same artist. just as good as i remembered, II especially gives me a lot of feeling.

album #3 fuuuuuuuuuck this is gorgeous. it honestly just reminds me of anna von hausswolff's all thoughts fly which is basically a carbon copy of what this album is i think. like almost down to a tee.
